Notice of invalid proposal to alter the Valuation list

THIS NOTICE IS IMPORTANT AND REQUIRES YOUR IMMEDIATE CONSIDERATION

Thank you for your proposal referred to above. In my opinion however the proposal is not valid because the proposal does not fulfil the statutory requirements.

Accordingly the document is returned to you as I do not intend to take any further action.

Should you disagree with my decision, the legislative provisions allow you, if you wish;

(1) Providing your proposal was made within the statutory time period, to make a fresh proposal in relation to the same property:

If you decide to make a fresh proposal, please complete the enclosed proposal form. The completed form must reach me within four weeks of the date of service of this notice.

Or

(2) Appeal against this notice:

If you maintain that the proposal is valid, you should appeal against this notice by completing the enclosed appeal form. It should be returned to me, together with the original proposal and a copy of this notice, within four weeks of the date of the service of this notice. A copy of any document or other evidence which supports your case that the proposal is valid should also be sent.

If your response convinces me that the original proposal is valid I will write and let you know. If I am not convinced, I will send the papers to the local Valuation Tribunal as an appeal by you against my refusal to accept your proposal. The Tribunal is an independent body and one of its tasks is to determine the validity of proposals.
